Hoosiers considering voting in the upcoming Republican primary election have a final chance this week to hear all six candidates vying for the GOP gubernatorial nomination speak about their policy priorities.

The nonpartisan Indiana Debate Commission is hosting a 90 minute Republican gubernatorial debate beginning at 6 p.m. Region time Tuesday.

The debate is scheduled to air live in Northwest Indiana on Lakeshore Public Television (PBS) and Lakeshore Public Radio (90.1 FM) from the Indiana University campus in Indianapolis.

It also will be available online for live or later viewing on the indianadebatecommission.com website.

The debate questions posed by moderator Jon Schwantes, a public affairs television host and news analyst at WFYI Public Media, primarily were submitted by Hoosier voters and selected by the debate commission.

This will be the 25th debate sponsored by the independent commission since it was founded in 2007 with a mission of "putting voters first."

Set to participate in the Republican gubernatorial debate are: U.S. Sen. Mike Braun; former Commerce Secretary Brad Chambers; Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch; Fort Wayne businessman Eric Doden; former Attorney General Curtis Hill Jr.; and Jamie Reitenour.

The winner of the May 7 GOP primary will compete against Democrat Jennifer McCormick and Libertarian Donald Rainwater at the Nov. 5 general election for a four-year term as Indiana's chief executive.

The incumbent, Republican Gov. Eric Holcomb, is constitutionally prohibited from serving a third consecutive term.
