Three city parks, 360 street lights, two fire stations and up to 10 police cars are just a few of the things city department heads have said they would need to add to serve areas included in an annexation Mayor John Hamilton proposed last week, according to a draft of a fiscal plan for the proposed growth in the city’s boundaries.

The annexation, if passed by the city council, would add nearly 10,000 acres to city limits and increase the city’s population to about 100,000.

City council members tonight will start the process of considering the annexation of seven areas totaling 9,848 acres with a population of 14,952:

• South-West — 5,113.5 acres and 9,452 people;

• South-East — 2,875.73 acres and 3,382 people;

• North Island — 110.2 acres and 302 people;
