SPENCER — Getting called to the principal’s office is almost never a good thing.

Spencer-Owen Community School Corp. teachers Kelly Mosier and Tom Wallace have sent a few students that way during their years as classroom teachers. But on Monday, they were the ones summoned to the office.

And the news was bad: They will receive reduction-in-force (layoff) notices March 22 and will not return as teachers for the 2010-11 school year unless some money falls from the sky. And it probably won’t. “They said I could be called back part time, but not to count on it,” Mosier said.
