INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Northwest Airlines today announced that it will expand its Indianapolis flight schedule for the second time this year with additional flights to New York's LaGuardia Airport, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando and Tampa, Fla.

NEW FLIGHT TO NEW YORK

Northwest will offer a fourth nonstop flight between Indianapolis and New York starting Nov. 1, 2006. The addition of a fourth flight provides travelers between New York and Indianapolis with a broad array of schedule choices during the day.

Flight 4775 will depart Indianapolis at 2:30 p.m. and arrive in New York at 4:40 p.m., operating daily except Saturday. Flight 4776 will depart New York at 10:45 a.m. and arrive in Indianapolis at 1:15 p.m., operating daily except Sunday.

The fourth Indianapolis-New York flight will be operated by Northwest Airlink partner Pinnacle Airlines, with a 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ).

NEW FLIGHTS TO FLORIDA

Northwest will offer two flights per day between Indianapolis and all four cities it serves in Florida when the last of its new Florida service begins on Jan. 3, 2007.

Fort Lauderdale

Between Indianapolis and Fort Lauderdale, Northwest will increase its schedule to two daily frequencies for the winter season beginning Nov. 1, with the addition of a new afternoon flight that complements its existing morning nonstop.

Flight 636 will depart Indianapolis at 1:45 p.m. and arrive in Fort Lauderdale at 4:38 p.m. Flight 637 will depart Fort Lauderdale at 5:20 p.m. and arrive in Indianapolis at 8:17 p.m.

Tampa

Between Indianapolis and Tampa, Northwest will increase its schedule to two daily frequencies for the winter season beginning Nov. 1, with the addition of a new morning flight that complements its existing afternoon nonstop.

Flight 1078 will depart Indianapolis at 7:45 a.m., arriving in Tampa at 10 a.m. Flight 1077 will depart Tampa at 10:40 a.m. and arrive in Indianapolis at 1:05 p.m.

The additional Fort Lauderdale and Tampa frequencies will be offered during the peak demand season from Nov. 1 to April 30, 2007.

Fort Myers

Northwest will add a second daily flight between Indianapolis and Fort Myers from Jan. 3 to April 30, 2007, with the addition of a new afternoon flight that complements its existing morning nonstop.

Flight 1228 will depart Indianapolis at 2:15 p.m., and arrive in Fort Myers at 4:40 p.m. Flight 1227 will depart Fort Myers at 2:10 p.m., and arrive in Indianapolis at 5:07 p.m.

Orlando

On Oct. 1, Northwest will restore the second flight it has previously offered between Indianapolis and Orlando, resuming an afternoon nonstop that complements its current morning flight.

Flight 824 will depart Indianapolis at 4:35 p.m., and arrive in Orlando at 6:52 p.m. Flight 825 will depart Orlando at 7:50 p.m., and arrive in Indianapolis at 10:09 p.m.

The additional Florida flights will be operated with 100-seat DC9-30 aircraft, which offer more opportunities to upgrade to a large first class cabin with 16 seats, as well as 84 seats in coach class.

Northwest has been progressively expanding its Indianapolis flight schedule since October 2004 and it has grown to become the fourth largest operation in Northwest's domestic network.

When the last of the new flights start on Jan. 3, 2007, Northwest's Indianapolis schedule will grow to up to 47 flights a day, as Northwest continues to carry more Indianapolis travelers to more nonstop destinations on more flights than any other airline.

Today, Northwest offers up to 42 nonstop flights a day to up to 19 top business and leisure destinations from Indianapolis.
