Grand Wayne Center is looking for ideas about how best to use and market the facility in light of changes in the landscape of downtown Fort Wayne.

On March 9, officials issued a Request for Proposals, commonly called an RFP, asking consultants to come forward with their qualifications and preliminary thoughts about the building's future, Bart Shaw, executive director confirmed Friday.

Shaw said a study resulting from the RFP could suggest reconfiguring the interior of the Grand Wayne's block-long building or marketing changes.

But expanding the 225,000 square feet of physical space is not off the table, he said.

“It's not necessarily for an expansion,” Shaw said of the RFP, adding the study follows up on one of two studies done about four years ago by Hunden Strategic Partners
