Caterpillar to bring 125 new jobs to Lafayette with average wage rate of $27.95

LAFAYETTE — Caterpillar Inc. of Lafayette plans to renovate its current facilities, bringing 125 new high-paying jobs to the area.

According to documents submitted to the Lafayette Redevelopment Commission, Caterpillar plans to invest $73.6 million through 2021 in building improvements, IT software and machinery and equipment at the company's 3701 South Street site.

While the Lafayette facility currently employs 1,353, Caterpillar anticipates 125 new jobs will be created with the renovations, with the average full-time hourly wage sitting at $27.95.
