JEFFERSONVILLE — Bluegrass Supply Chain Services, LLC, is eyeing the construction of a new facility in the Bridgeport Business Center in Jeffersonville, according to a news release from One Southern Indiana.

One Southern Indiana (1si) announced Wednesday in a news release that representatives from Bluegrass Supply Chain Services, LLC, will appear before the Jeffersonville Redevelopment Commission on Wednesday night and outline their proposed plan for the construction of a new facility. Company leaders are considering a 200,000-square-foot building, within the Bridgeport Business Center at 1220 Bridgeport Drive.

Bluegrass Supply Chain Services is a third-party logistics provider based in Bowling Green, Ky. The proposed construction project will create a new warehouse space with offices that will serve clients in the areas of value-added warehousing, sequencing, kitting, and transportation management. The company will retain 14 employees currently employed in Jeffersonville and plans to hire another 70 before the end of 2020.

The company is requesting a tax abatement for its qualifying capital investment. The company plans to invest $9.7 million in the project through 2021. If approved, the tax abatement will allow the company to phase-in its property taxes associated with this project.

Barring the unforeseen, the company would like to begin hiring Jan. 2, for the estimated construction completion date of Feb. 1, 2019. Those interested in applying for positions should contact Lyndsey Grider at 270-282-2211.
