WEST LAFAYETTE — As West Lafayette's population continues to grow, city leaders see a need to ramp up the activity options available for residents.

Their first priority? An indoor recreation and aquatics center.

"This is something that is truly a citizens-based project where we’re going to make sure that it’s something that can be used by the folks that we serve and it’s going to be something that’s going to be enjoyed for many, many years to come," West Lafayette Mayor John Dennis said.

The center will be built at the corner of Salisbury Street and Kalberer Road, according to plans shared Wednesday at a meeting for the city's Redevelopment Commission, which will fund and oversee the project.
