Bloomington residents visiting the city’s website will notice a stark difference in its layout as well as some new digital services.

On Wednesday, the city went live with its revamped website.

“The transition to the new website is the beginning of a process rather than an ending. Providing up-to-date, accurate information for our residents and other visitors will continue to be a daily priority,” Mayor John Hamilton said in a press release. “Huge amounts of information will not only be readily available, but easier to find and navigate. This will be an engaging and dynamic tool that people should enjoy using to get current information about City services and events.”

Tom Miller, city innovation director, said in a city release the recent community-wide survey revealed that 67 percent of Bloomington residents uses this website for city information.

Along with links residents already depend on such as B-Clear, myBloomington and uReport, Miller said the website adds some more useful digital services for residents. These include a financial transparency portal, a business quickstart guide, interactive map gallery and a mayor’s public calendar.
