ANDERSON – The former Social Security Administration building in downtown Anderson is getting a new life with a company that plans to bring 150 jobs to the city.

The Anderson City Council on Thursday approved a resolution setting a public hearing on April 12 to approve a three-year tax abatement for BOCA Holdings, doing business as Comfort Keepers.

The building at 216 E. Ninth St. has been vacant for at least five years.

Company president Tim Paul said the company, which provides Medicare and Medicaid home health care, will hire five employees immediately with a combined annual salary of $241,000.

Paul said the company would create 150 jobs, which would include 30 nurses and as many as 100 home health care aides. Salaries would range from $45 to $75 per hour.

“Our current company in Indianapolis has 600 employees,” Paul said. “We hope to see the same growth in Anderson. This is a good market.”
