SOUTH BEND — A top regional Ivy Tech Community College human resources administrator was fired from her publicly funded job at the college in November for inaccurately stating her prior work background.

Jannifer Crittendon, of Granger, was terminated for providing a resume with inaccurate previous job titles and work experience listed, according to documents The Tribune obtained through a public records request.

The firing came after complaints from Ivy Tech employees about the human resources division, including lack of support, lack of timeliness in recruitment/hiring, responsiveness to worker performance issues, knowledge of college policies and procedures, and overall lack of confidence in the HR team's leadership and operations, according to the documents.

Crittendon was executive director of human resources for Ivy Tech's north-central and northwest regions from Dec. 17, 2014, to Nov. 11, 2016. Her salary was $107,100 per year at the time of her termination, according to the college.

Crittendon previously worked at the University of Notre Dame, Northwestern University and Indiana University South Bend.

On a resume Crittendon submitted to Ivy Tech as part of an employment application in 2014, she stated she was "director, human resources" at Notre Dame from 2005 to 2012, and "director, human resources" at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., from 2012 to 2013.

Ivy Tech North Central and Northwest Chancellor Thomas Coley informed Crittendon in a letter dated Nov. 11, 2016, that she was immediately terminated from her job.
