It's unknown what effect the closure of Saran Industries' Indianapolis headquarters will have on the company's Bloomington location.

Saran announced Tuesday it will close its Indianapolis manufacturing plant and headquarters on or before June 30 this year, leaving 110 workers without their jobs. The permanent closure means the headquarters for the industrial finishing and machining company will relocate to its Kokomo plant. According to President and Chief Operating Officer Mel Rachal, the dozen workers at the Bloomington plant will not experience layoffs.

Although the company stated in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining and Notification Act notice that some workers from the Indianapolis plant may find work at other Saran properties, Rachal couldn't say whether there would be significant effects on the Bloomington workforce or the amount of work done in Bloomington.
