WEST LAFAYETTE – Judging by his performance review Friday, the Purdue University trustees like President Mitch Daniels. They like really, really like him.
Trustees continued to rave Friday about the job Daniels was doing at Purdue, giving him nearly all of the portion of his salary that depends on goals set at the start of the year.
For the year ending June 30, Daniels made $769,500, after accounting for his base pay, the portion of his salary that is at-risk and a retention bonus built into his contract.
By missing on 5 percent of the goals set for him by the trustees, Daniels lost out on $10,500 of the total pay possible.
“We said all along that a perfect score would be difficult to achieve,” Trustee Tom Spurgeon said. “We expect much.”
