INDIANAPOLIS — Hoosiers will hobnob with Hindus next week when Gov. Eric Holcomb leads a state trade mission to India, the second-most populous nation on earth.

The governor and a delegation of Indiana business leaders are set to meet their political and corporate counterparts during visits to Delhi, Bangalore, Mysore and Pune between Oct. 27 and Nov. 3.

The Republican is hoping to increase Indiana's ties with India, which already purchases $266.6 million of Indiana-made products each year and whose businesses employ thousands of Hoosiers.

"With recent, large job commitments from India-based companies, we are building even greater momentum to send more Hoosier-made goods to India and recruit more Indian businesses to grow here in Indiana," Holcomb said.

The cost of the trip is being paid from donations made to the Indiana Economic Development Foundation.
