INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Revenue (DOR) is forming the state’s first ever Commissioner’s Advisory Council in order to increase collaboration between the Department of Revenue and the general public.

According to a press release issued by the DOR, the Council will shape tax administration in the state by providing input on agency operations, policies and perhaps even weigh in on legislative proposals.

DOR Commissioner Adam Krupp said the Council will help connect the public with the DOR and provide increased collaboration and government transparency.

“Ultimately, I’d like to gather information and hear opinions and experiences from folks on the Council about the DOR’s performance in terms of customer satisfaction or ways in which our operations are not smooth or efficient,” Krupp said.

Krupp said a variety of voices will be considered for the Council, including individuals from the business community, attorneys, financial professionals, and even members of the general public.
