WEST LAFAYETTE – Purdue University’s president wants to remind the campus community to uphold Purdue’s values and report wrongdoings to the university.
Purdue President Mitch Daniels wrote a letter to the Purdue community to remind them to report — whether it’s sexual assault or academic dishonesty.
In his letter, Daniels refers to “recent events at Michigan State University and elsewhere.”
Larry Nassar, a former Michigan State University employee, pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting nine girls, but faces more than 150 civil suits that also involve MSU and others.
According to the Detroit News, 14 people at Michigan State University knew about allegations on Nassar.
“We share the responsibility as members of the Purdue community to maintain an environment characterized always by safety, security and integrity,” Daniels wrote in his letter. “We can tolerate nothing less.”

Daniels reminds people it’s better to say something if there’s a concern.
