PLYMOUTH — A pair of Marshall County housing projects received final approval for Regional Cities Initiative money on Wednesday.

According to the Indiana Economic Development Corp., a recent market study found that rental availability in the area was between 1 and 2 percent. The projects will develop housing options for individuals and families to attract new residents and enhance the downtowns of Bremen and Plymouth.

Sunrise Meadows, a planned development in Bremen, will build mid-level priced homes for residents, with a plan to eventually host 50 home sits. The state will provide $82,596 to support $711,149 in total investment for the project. So far, 26 home sites have been completed and two villas and six condominiums have been constructed.
