You won't see their products on big box store shelves.
You've likely never seen their factory, either, tucked down a winding Strong Drive in one of RCA's old warehouses.
But for Organized Living, a local manufacturer of high-end closets and wire shelving, business is booming.
For nearly a century Organized Living, previously named Schulte before a rebrand in 2013, has been in business and entered the storage and organization industry since 1976. The company is headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, but all manufacturing is done in Bloomington in their 630,000 square foot facility.
The company mostly sells directly to developers specializing in single family and multifamily dwellings. They're known for closet systems, sold similarly to the furniture kits at IKEA and Wal-Mart, for example, but with the hardware already inserted into the parts for easy manufacturing.
Organized Living also consumes more than 10 million pounds of steel each year to make their signature wire shelves, constructed with larger diameter steel than comparative shelving systems offered by competitors, and "painted" with an epoxy powder coating more durable than traditional paint.
Their products ship to all 50 states and Canada, and have sent organizational systems to Mexico, Australia and Great Britain. They are for sale on Amazon and at www.organizedliving.com.
