GOSHEN — The Goshen NIBCO plant has been expanded again.

Company officials cut a ceremonial ribbon Friday on the 45,000-square-foot addition that will provide more space for the company that manufactures valves, fittings and water flow control products for commercial and residential use. It is the eighth addition to the Goshen plant along Eisenhower Drive North, according to company officials. The added space will be used for production, packaging and merchandising.

Steven Malm, president and CEO of NIBCO, said the Goshen plant is, “an important part of what our (customers) do.”

Rex Martin, chairman of NIBCO’s board of directors, offered his congratulations to everyone involved with the Goshen plant.

“It seems like every five or six years there’s a new building because of the success of this plant,” he said. Martin also mentioned

the company was, “running out of real estate,” and the next building will, “have to be up another floor.”

Rhett Fisher, chief financial officer of Ancon Construction, which built the addition, said he was “absolutely excited” for the expansion.

“They’ve been a great customer,” he said, and he was, “glad to see them continue expanding.”

Kelli Mann, the purchasing coordinator of NIBCO Inc., said the extra room would “alleviate congestion.”

“With everything growing,” Mann said, “it just makes sense logistically to add more space.”

Along with the extra capacity, Martin said there would be a “modest increase,” in employment at the plant.

“We’re hiring all the time,” Martin said.
