WAKARUSA — Clayton home building group, a Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary, has opened its second home building facility in Wakarusa.

The 120,000-square-foot facility began production the first week of May, according to the company. Before opening its doors, new innovative equipment and technology was installed, including a flexible overhead crane system. The facility features a modern break room and outdoor seating areas.

“A great team member experience is the most important thing to us,” said Wakarusa General Manager Jason Mickley. “Our new state-of-the-art equipment and technology really improves efficiency and provides a great environment.”

The opening of the second Clayton Wakarusa facility marks the 40th home building facility in operation for the Clayton home building group. The home building group has more than 10,000 employees nationwide.

The company said the Clayton Wakarusa facility recently added more than 95 new team members and the intention is to increase that number in the future.
