ROSELAND — The growth of the local hotel industry here is continuing its momentum with a new Springhill Suites that will be built at the former site of Days Inn.

JSK Hospitality, the same company responsible for South Bend’s new downtown Courtyard by Marriott, filed construction permits to begin building a four-story, 92-room hotel just north of Roseland.

And with family and parents coming into town for the University of Notre Dame, Saint Mary’s and Holy Cross graduation commencements, the continuing expansion of available rooms may be a sign that the local hospitality market hasn’t yet hit its peak.

Dan Boecher, vice president of asset management and development for JSK, said the company is currently doing site preparation for the new Springhill Suites, located at 52733 Indiana 933, just north of the Indiana Toll Road.

Featuring slightly larger-than-usual rooms in a suite format, an indoor pool, workout facility and free breakfasts, JSK hopes to take advantage of increasing demand for hotel rooms.

The hotel plans to open in the second quarter of 2019, Boecher said. It will be JSK’s fourth Marriott-related property in the area.
