Two customer service offices are closing their locations in downtown Shelbyville.

At noon today, Chase Bank will shut the doors of its branch at 49 Public Square, shifting local operations to a new location in the city.

On Monday, Chase will open its new Shelbyville branch at 1828 E. State Road 44 at 9 a.m.

That’s the mall plaza where Rural King is located.

Chase will have a new neighbor at its new office. The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles office in Shelbyville is moving next door.

At 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, the BMV office at 29 Public Square will shut down.

“When they reopen next week, which is Tuesday, it’ll be at the new location,” said Christine Meyer, director of communications for the Indiana BMV.

That new location in Shelbyville will be at 1826 E. State Road 44, again in the strip mall anchored by Rural King.

Meyer did not have a specific reason for moving the Shelbyville license branch which has been in the works for months, she said.

However, relocations are done always to serve customers more efficiently, Meyer added.
