Muncie movie theater gets liquor license

Muncie moviegoers will know soon enough: The AMC Showplace theater near Muncie Mall has won approval for a beer, wine and liquor permit from the Delaware County Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

The transfer of the permit — which puts a stamp of approval on a private sale of an existing permit from Creative Opportunity Center Inc, which formerly operated downtown venues, to American Multi Cinema, part of the Missouri-based AMC chain — came in a recent Delaware County ABC board meeting. (Although the notice posted in the window of the theater says a public hearing on the transfer is set for March 20, the hearing actually occurred at the regular monthly ABC board meeting on March 2.)
