An Indianapolis shipping company has purchased Logansport’s Pasquale Trucking Co. from former owner Tom Pasquale.

Online Transport Inc. recently took over Pasquale’s drivers and office staff, according to Online Transport spokeswoman Allison Lauck. The company is preparing to hire more drivers and one or two mechanics, too, Lauck said.

The transaction was effective April 5 and included Pasquale’s 35 trucks and 100 trailers.

Online Transport is a regional carrier operating mainly in the Midwest and the southeastern U.S. In addition to Pasquale’s, it owns Frontier Transport, which has hubs in Knoxville and Atlanta as well as Indianapolis, and W. S. Thomas Transfer, which has a hub in Fairmont, West Virginia.

“We could not be more excited to be a part of the Logansport community,” Online Transport Vice President Billy Cunningham said in a statement emailed to the Pharos-Tribune. “Pasquale is a great company with great drivers, office staff and mechanics/technicians, who will fit in the the Online family seamlessly.”

Online Transport is headquartered in Indianapolis, but dispatching for Pasquale’s will remain in Logansport, Lauck said, and the office staff will still work from Logansport.

With Pasquale, the company will have more than 300 drivers across all its divisions.

Pasquale Trucking is a temperature-controlled freight carrier, similar to one of Online Transport’s units based in Indianapolis, Lauck said. The company focuses on dry freight and doesn’t carry hazardous materials, she said.
