LAFAYETTE —  Sometimes it's hard to drive around Greater Lafayette without feeling like you're in the center of a giant molehill.

Construction is rampant, structures are popping up left and right, and there are a shocking number of dirt piles on construction lots.

It's a headache now, but all of this is just a sign that Lafayette is growing and thriving, attracting developers and investors.

The south side of Lafayette is not immune to this growth, and two new projects are underway there.

Gas station, convenience store

Jesse Mann, who owns several convenience stores around town, is in the process of building a new plaza at Twyckenham Boulevard and Poland Hill Road.

Initially, the plaza will include a Marathon gas station, Friendly Market convenience store and a laundromat. Mann said there will be space for other retailers to come in, as well, and he hopes to attract additional vendors.
