The 10 local doctors who sought to find a buyer for majority control of Lutheran Health Network have disbanded the legal entity they formed and pledged to work cooperatively with parent company Community Health Systems.

The former members of Fort Wayne Physicians LLC also said they won't take additional action to find a new corporate partner for Lutheran's network, according to a joint statement released Thursday afternoon.

The statement is a cease-fire, of sorts, between Franklin, Tennessee-based CHS and the group that loudly criticized its management decisions, especially regarding what the doctors described as a lack of adequate investment in facilities, equipment and staff.

Fallout has included the firing of network CEO Brian Bauer and the reassignment of Dupont Hospital CEO Aaron Garofola on June 12. This week saw the departure of two part-time administrators: Dr. Geoff Randolph, who was the network's chief medical officer, and Dr. Matt Sutter, who was Lutheran Hospital's chief medical officer. None of the four were members of the group of 10.
