Strong demand is driving an RV manufacturer's $2.9 million expansion into DeKalb County, state officials announced Wednesday.

Forest River, which employs 11,000, expects to create up to 125 jobs by 2019 at its new Butler operation.

The Elkhart-based company is now hiring for electricians, plumbers, framers, finish carpenters, quality control inspectors, metal hangers and cleaners.

Officials said wages are expected to be above DeKalb County's average wage but didn't supply a pay range. According to federal data, that average is about $43,500. Pay typically varies by position and by applicants' experience.
