An extended-stay hotel chain plans to open a location in Whitestown’s Anson development.

Indianapolis-based developer Loftus Robinson will construct a 12,380-square-foot WoodSpring Suites hotel. The extended-stay hotel will have 122 rooms and 126 parking spaces. The Whitestown Plan Commission approved concept and development plans for the project on Monday night.

The new hotel will be constructed on a 2.7-acre parcel located between Perry Worth Road and the Anson Apartments in Whitestown’s Anson development.

Whitestown Town Manager Dax Norton said that property owner Duke Realty has courted hotels since the Anson Planned Use Development district was established more than a decade ago.

“It’s a product that’s lacking in our area considering we continue to have a whole bunch of industries coming up,” Norton said.

Norton said that the extended stay rooms will be convenient for executives who work in the 600-acre AllPoints at Anson industrial park, where Amazon, Express Scripts and GNC all have warehouses.

WoodSpring Hotels, which owns the WoodSpring Suites and Value Place extended-stay hotels, has 220 locations across the nation, according to the company's website. Greenwood, Plainfield and Indianapolis are all home to WoodSpring Hotels locations.

The Whitestown hotel is now fully approved. Loftus Robinson could not be reached to comment on a timeline for the project.

More development coming to Whitestown

The Plan Commission Monday night approved plans for further industrial development in Whitestown. Becknell Services is planning to build a 281,400-square-foot warehouse in the Perry Industrial Park on County Road 550 South near State Road 267.

GDI Construction submitted a development plan for a 500,460-square-foot industrial complex on the northwest corner of Albert S. White Boulevard and County Road 500 East.

Also on Monday night an unnamed manufacturer petitioned the Whitestown Redevelopment Commission for a 10-year tax abatement.

The manufacturer plans to consolidate locations in Peru and Indianapolis to a future warehouse in Whitestown, according to the abatement application.
