Regional Opportunity Initiatives identified area schools and teachers it will work with in the coming year.

The details of the Regional STEM Fellow Program and Ready Schools Initiative were announced Friday.

Introduced at ROI's April annual meeting, both the fellowship program and the workforce alignment initiative are a part of the group's mission to support economic and community prosperity in Brown, Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Orange, Owen and Washington counties.

Friday's announcement named 15 K-6 teachers as fellows and six school districts, including Brown County, as initiative partners.

The Ready Schools Initiative aims to align school districts to the education and workforce needs of the region, will also be implemented in Loogootee Community Schools and a collaboration of the four school districts in Dubois County.
