IU creates centralized office on sexual violence

The IU Office for Sexual Violence Prevention and Victim Advocacy opened in August at 506 N. Fess Ave., a brand new office under the Division of Student Affairs.

It’s so new that the staff is still awaiting the arrival of their sign out front, said Leslie Fasone, the office’s director for wellness, prevention and victim advocacy. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. 

“This office was created as part of a reorganization effort led by (Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students) Dr. Lori Reesor to be as efficient as possible,” Fasone said Friday.

“We basically moved staff from two different departments to create this office. Now we have a space where students can access our resources, get involved with activities on campus, or be directed to other available resources,” Fasone said.
