RV industry keeps rolling as monthly totals are shattering 2016 numbers

ELKHART — The recreation vehicle industry continues on a torrid pace in 2017, once again topping 40,000 shipments for the fourth month in-a-row.

RV shipments reached 47,416 units in June, an increase of 18.3 percent over the 40,072 units shipped in June of 2016, according to statistics from the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association.

Overall in 2016, RV manufacturers have shipped 256,430 units, up 13.3 percent, from 226,286 units shipped during the same period of time in 2016. Towable RVs are leading the charge with 42,240 shipped in June, an increase of 20 percent over June 2016.

Class C towable shipments saw a 16 percent jump in June, compared to June 2016. In total, class C towables have seen a healthy 23 percent climb in shipments through the first six months of the year.
