Kevin Valentine stood outside the Ulta Beauty store Sunday morning clutching a large red shopping bag from Bath & Body Works.

He was waiting for his wife, Sheila, 41, who was inside the Jefferson Pointe store. The Fort Wayne couple had been shopping all day Saturday and wanted to finish their Christmas buying Sunday.

The Valentines said they had about 75 percent of their shopping done and waiting until the last weekend before Christmas was part procrastination and part strategy. Kevin, 36, said they were hoping to score some last-minute deals.

Shoppers were out in force this weekend at Jefferson Pointe and shops at Apple Glen Crossing. Some were looking to take advantage of late sales, and others had just put off their shopping until the last minute. Many had the bulk of their shopping done but were picking up the remaining presents they needed.
