Work for the I-69 Finish Line is nearly 50% complete, according to the project's website.

The entire corridor — which runs through Morgan, Johnson and Marion counties — is listed at being 48% complete.

The Morgan County portion of the project is listed as being 79% complete, while the Johnson County stretch is listed at 60% finished.

In Marion County, as of Monday morning, the state is saying the interstate project is about 7% done.

Construction of the 26-mile stretch of new interstate is expected to be complete by the end of 2024.

With spring's arrival, motorists and area residents can expect to see an uptick in activity along the corridor in the coming weeks and months.

According to the project's weekly update sent Monday morning, State Road 37 will be reduced to one lane at Myra Lane and Teeters Road for bridgework.

"Daytime crews will be delivering and assembling steel bridge beams near Myra Lane," the Indiana Department of Transportation said in its email. "Expect 20-minute traffic stoppages at night as cranes lift each beam section into place over (State Road) 37. Bridge crews also expect to pour the concrete deck early Wednesday Morning for the Teeters Road overpass."

The state also notes that lane closures along State Road 37 are expected to remain in place through late June.

The speed limit along State Road 37 between Martinsville and State Road 144 is also reduced to 45 miles per hour.

Morgan County

Exit ramps from I-69 to State Road 69/Morton Avenue are expected to remain closed until early next week

"Ongoing final paving work will close the ramps one at a time connecting (State Road) 44/Reuben Drive and (State Road) 252/Hospital Drive with I-69," INDOT noted. "After the I-69 exit ramps reopen at (State Road) 39/Morton Avenue, night work will move to the Ohio Street/Artesian Avenue ramps."

Workers have also installed poles and cables for a traffic signal along Artesian Avenue at Commercial Boulevard and Southview Drive.

The signal will replace an all-way stop sign at the intersection in the coming weeks.

South Street in Martinsville is currently closed from Home Avenue to the Grand Valley Boulevard overpass so that the street can be widened.

Johnson County

Police officers are scheduled to direct traffic at Smith Valley Road and State Road 37 Thursday so workers can adjust the signal at the intersection for upcoming traffic pattern changes.

"In late may, the Bluffdale Drive extension is expected to open south of Fairview Road, and Smith Valley Road will temporarily close west of (State Road) 37," INDOT noted.

Nightly lane closures are also expected along State Road 37 near the State Road 144 intersection for bridgework.

Marion County

Up in Marion County, the new Mooresville Road bypass bridge is expected to open over I-465 next week.

"The Mann Road Bridge over I-465 is expected to close about a week after Mooresville Road Bypass reopens," INDOT noted.

There will be some nighttime lane closures along I-465 due to the bridge work at Mooresville Road Bypass and Madison Avenue in southwest Marion County.

These closures will occur after 11 p.m. and occur for about 20 minutes at a time.
