Northwest Indiana schools will consider upgrades to their school and keep key leaders.

LaPorte Community School Corporation, Date of Meeting: April 13

The LaPorte Community School Corporation School Board will be asked to consider changing the administrative structure of the school district and to mull over a new contract with the local YMCA for a before and after school childcare program.

The administration will also present to the School Board the online school calendar for the 2026-2027 school year.

East Porter County School Corporation, Date of Meeting: April 13

Where: Administration Office Board Room, 502 East College Ave., Kouts, or on YouTube.

The East Porter County School Board will be asked to consider a laundry list of improvements to the schools, including new carpet flooring at Kouts High School and Morgan Township Middle/High School for a cost of nearly $40,000; new roof at the corporation office for a cost totalling nearly $47,000; and tennis court resurfacing at Kouts for a cost close to $39,000.

Metropolitan School District of Boone Township, Date of Meeting: April 14


Where: Hebron Elementary School, 307 S. Main St., Hebron, or on YouTube.

The school board will consider contract extensions for the school district’s three principals: Principal Timothy Prikkel at the elementary school, Principal Matthew Beahm at the middle school and Principal Allyson Kaegi at the high school.

The board will also consider an amendment to the 2026-2027 school year.

Lake Station Community Schools, the School Town of Hobart and the Merrillville School Corporation will also meet next week, but have yet to publish their agendas as of publication.
