MUNCIE — Ball State University is disbursing nearly $8 million in federal financial aid to eligible students.

The funds were provided to Ball State through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund II, part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, which was signed into law in late 2020. The act authorized $81.88 billion nationally to support education, according to a release.

Ball State’s goal is to assist as many students as possible in accordance with federal guidelines. More than 9,000 eligible undergraduate and graduate students, including online students, currently enrolled at Ball State will receive between $500 and $1,000 in one-time grants through this program, the release stated.
