Fort Wayne officials announce plans for $37 million in 2026 infrastructure projects, less than 2025 because of Senate Enrolled Act 1

Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker and other officials on Monday announced plans to spend $37 million this year on neighborhood infrastructure projects, including sidewalks and street resurfacing.

Public Works Director Shan Gunawardena said this will be the first time since 2014 that the city will invest less in neighborhood infrastructure than it did the previous year. Fort Wayne spent about $41.5 million last year.
