The Indiana State Department of Health on Monday reported 2,349 new cases of COVID, raising the cumulative number to 910,013.
Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 increased from 2,631 on Saturday to 2,634 on Sunday. That was down from 2,676 on Friday. Almost a third (33%) of Indiana’s intensive care unit beds are occupied by COVID patients.
The department said no new deaths due to COVID-19 were reported Sunday, but the cumulative total rose by 61 over the total in Friday’s report, to 14,391. The seven-day moving average of new deaths was at 15 per day, the health department said.
More than 3.16 million Hoosiers had been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Monday at 5 a.m., up by 16,308 over the weekend.
