Southwest Allen County Schools will soon launch a program to support early career teachers along with those new to the district.
The New Teacher Academy is among the initiatives that support the district's strategic plan, which leaders publicly unveiled last summer. The figurative road map was shaped by community members including employees and parents.
The guide's five focus areas are academics, communication, community building, mental health, and attracting and retaining staff. Strategies and measures of success are tied to each pillar.
