Officials with the Greenfield Police Department are taking part in a Tactical Medicine (TACMED) class this week at GPD and at the old jail. Officials say the training goes into much greater depth than standard first aid. They’ll cover severe injuries like gunshot wounds, stab wounds, amputations and other severe-blood-loss scenarios to help keep people alive until EMS can get there. They had several of these instances in the past year that highlight the need. Staff photo by Tom Russo
