Northwest Allen County Schools referendum fails with 54% of voters against it

Opportunities for Northwest Allen County Schools students and staff will be different than what leaders envisioned following Tuesday’s failed ballot measure to annually collect up to $12 million in additional property taxes, Superintendent Wayne Barker said.

“That’s a crushing feeling,” he told The Journal Gazette within an hour of learning 54% of voters opposed the eight-year operating referendum.
