LAFAYETTE — Confirmed cases of coronavirus increased in the region with Tippecanoe County having 24 new cases to report, according to Friday's stats released by the Indiana State Department of Health.

Tippecanoe County Health Department Administrator Khala Hochstedler said the 24 cases came from one nursing facility, Rosewalk Village on Union Street.

The nursing home has a COVID-19 page on its website.

The home reports it has 50 active cases of coronavirus among its residents — with 24 new cases over the last 72 hours. Twelve employees have tested positive for the virus.

The nursing home reports that five residents have died from the virus. Tippecanoe County has had a total of eight deaths from the virus.
