EVANSVILLE — Monarch Beverage Co. is terminating all employees at its Evansville plant, officials said.
According to a notice given to the city earlier this month, beginning Dec. 11, Monarch and EF Transit will "permanently layoff and terminate the employment of all of their employees at the plant."
The terminations are a result of a sale set to close in mid-December. Monarch Beverage Co., Inc. and EF Transit, Inc. have entered into an asset purchase agreement with Monarch Disturbing L.L.C., a subsidiary of Reyes Holdings, L.L.C.
Hundreds of more of the notices went out to Monarch employees in Indianapolis.
Per the agreement, Monarch and EF Transit will sell all of their assets to Reyes Holdings.
A total of 56 employees at the Evansville plant will be impacted.
