MUNCIE — Like many other politicians, sometimes it looks like one minute state Rep. J.D. Prescott, R-Union City, is wearing a mask when in close contact with others, and the next minute he's not.
Prescott was called out on social media recently after photographs circulated of him and fellow Republican state legislative candidates Dale Basham and Elizabeth Rowrary failing to wear masks or physically distance at several group events.
But it's not just Republican candidates letting their guard down. State Rep. Melanie Wright, D-Yorktown, for example, posed for a cheek-to-cheek photograph, indoors, with a 100-year-old World War II veteran, neither of whom was masked.
"No masks," a Facebook commenter posted. "I guess 100 is enough!!"
Prescott, a farmer, did not return messages from The Star Press inquiring about his mask practices, but Wright, who is required to wear a mask as a school teacher, issued this statement:
