LAFAYETTE – Indiana’s count of confirmed coronavirus cases showed a 23 percent increase since Saturday, with 290 new cases – a count that stood at 1,514, as of Sunday morning, the Indiana State Health Department reported Sunday morning.

In Tippecanoe County, the count remained at 11, with one death, the same as it had been Saturday. County health officials reported the death on Friday. A Tippecanoe man died while hospitalized at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

The state reported another one additional death in Indiana since Saturday, bringing the toll to 32.

The state map showed that every county bordering Tippecanoe County had cases, except for Benton County.

Among Tippecanoe County’s neighbors: Montgomery County had five cases; Warren, two; Fountain, one; Clinton, one; Carroll, one; and White, one. To the north, Jasper County had six cases and Newton County had one case.

In Montgomery County, health officials on Sunday said the county had been informed of a sixth case, up from the five reported by the state health department Sunday morning.

Jim Johnson, a county spokesman, said a health department investigation showed that five of the six cases attended the same private event on March 15 at the Eagles Club, 920 E. South Blvd. in Crawfordsville.
