RICHMOND — The Economic Development Corp. of Wayne County has shuffled some staff roles and hired a new office manager.

The change comes as the new Economic Development Strategic Plan for Wayne County expands the EDC's role to focus on talent recruitment and retention efforts by enhancing the county's quality of life, according to a news release. The EDC also will continue to focus on business retention and expansion, business attraction and workforce development.

Rhonda Fisher has been hired as the office manager, a position opened by the staff realignment. She previously was office manager at Smith Foods Richmond and Whitewater Valley Rehabilitation.

Fisher fills the role formerly owned by Theresa Lindsey, who began as the EDC office manager in 2019. Lindsey moves into the position of business and workforce development manager to focus on local expansion and retention projects and initiatives to strengthen and increase the competitiveness of Wayne County's workforce.

Sarah Mitchell's move to the newly created position of economic development manager opened the position Lindsey now fills. Mitchell joined the EDC in 2018, and she will now focus on housing, downtown and industrial park development.
