The Indiana State Department of Health on Tuesday reported 2,756 new cases of COVID-19 and 126 more deaths, bringing the cumulative total of deaths to 9,092.

The death total was the highest in the daily report since Jan. 5. Deaths due to COVID-19 have exceeded single digits for 100 straight days..

The state said 8,243 new individuals were tested, the lowest number in six days.

Statewide hospitalizations due to COVID-19 dipped from 2,386 on Sunday to 2,332 on Monday, the 11th decline in 12 days. The high mark was 3,460, set on Nov. 30.
