The News Examiner, The (New Castle) Courier-Times and The Shelbyville News are pleased to welcome Group Publisher Kelly Miller, who took leadership of the three publications March 27.

Miller oversees eight Paxton Media Group newspapers including those in Connersville, New Castle, Shelbyville, Marion, Huntington, Peru, Wabash and Frankfort.

Local residents might remember Miller as she served as the News Examiner’s publisher from 2008-2011 and as The Courier-Times’ publisher from 2011-2014.

“I am happy to be back in these communities and I know we can provide a strong product, print and digital, for years to come,” Miller said. “I hope to get to know these communities again and provide quality, hyper-local content that readers can not get anywhere else. I strive to keep the circulation strong and the business solid.”

Originally from Lansing, Michigan, Miller is now based in Marion, Indiana. She started her career with Paxton in 1996 after attending college at Western Michigan University. At the time, she sold advertising in St. Joseph, Michigan. From 2014-2021, Miller worked for Gatehouse and Wick Communication.

Miller enjoys many aspects of the newspaper industry.

“I enjoy watching businesses grow that use our products to increase customer traffic,” she said. “I feel we provide a great service to all the communities we cover. We cover events, legals, government and so much more that add to the quality of life in our communities.”

When she isn’t working, Miller enjoys spending time with her husband, Donnie, who is retired from the Army National Guard, as well as her two dogs, Jose Iglesias and Miguel Cabrera. She enjoys baseball, reading and watching true crime television shows.
