Chuck Surack may not know the intricacies of a corner kick or how to execute a proper throw-in, but he understands the popularity of soccer and believes drawing a Major League Soccer team to Indianapolis would be good for the state.

That’s one of the reasons the Fort Wayne entrepreneur joined the ownership group of Indy Eleven, the Indianapolis pro team that competes in the USL Championship tier and is hoping to bring an MLS franchise to a planned stadium within a $1 billion-plus mixed-use development in the city’s southwest quadrant.
