Indiana small businesses and entrepreneurs can get grants of up to $15,000 for professional services.
The Indiana Small Business Development Center or Indiana SBDC is offering grants through its Indiana Technical Assistance Program or INTAP. Small businesses can get funding for R&D, business operations improvements, technology development and the implementation of new technology.
The goal is to help small businesses fund growth and improvement projects.
Small businesses that are clients of the Indiana SBDC can put in applications between Jan. 15 and Feb. 21. Any interested small businesses that are not currently a client of the Indiana SBDC, which offers a variety of no-cost services to help entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses, can sign up before the application window opens.
"As a state, Indiana continues to support Hoosier entrepreneurs and small businesses through innovative and strategic ways at no cost,” said Jon Myers, state director of the Indiana SBDC and vice president of small business at the Indiana Economic Development Corp. “INTAP allows entrepreneurs to tap into talent that might not otherwise be available, enabling small businesses and startups to develop and implement new technologies and processes to take their operations to the next level and greater their impact on their employees, their communities and our economy.”
Indiana launched the INTAP program in 2017. It has helped 316 businesses across the state grow their operations so far.
Qualifying small businesses can get up to $15,000 in professional services from qualified vendors for projects that require technical expertise or specialized assistance. The grand funding for instances can go toward the development of an app, the update of a point-of-sale tracking system or intellectual property legal assistance.
