Pharmacy students boost Manchester University enrollment in Fort Wayne

Attracting 64 students to the College of Pharmacy it just opened in Fort Wayne contributed to a 2 percent enrollment increase for Manchester University.

 

The North Manchester-based university saw an enrollment last year of 1,320 students, and “we anticipate about 1,350 students when our numbers are finalized,” Dave McFadden, executive vice president and dean for the College of Pharmacy, said in a statement.

 

Reaching 1,350 would make enrollment the largest the school has seen since the Vietnam Era, the statement said.

 

“The undergraduate program is riding an enrollment wave that began five years ago, when Manchester charted a course of affordable higher education with its Fast Forward three-year degree and Triple Guarantee of financial aid, a degree in four years and a job or grad school within six months of graduation,” the statement said.

 

“About 4 percent of the undergraduate students are enrolled in Fast Forward, which puts them into their careers a full year earlier.”
